3 kids, already crazy, why not Farmer's Wife!?

My baby arrived in early August, a big happy guy! Well, ok. In all fairness. He started out a colicky maniac but I could tell he wanted to be a happy guy and was not. We tried everything, probiotics, a soother, pacing, rocking, co sleeping, sleeping upright in a chair holding him until our limbs went numb... And finally pediatric chiropractic when my midwife noticed his cute little fat bulges in his legs weren't symmetrical from on leg to the other. At that point I was distraught, out of ideas and was willing to do anything. The chiropractor works specifically with babies and was a good hour drive away but I thought, "alright, load up those 'big kids' and let's do this! It can't hurt!"

Long story short, 4 adjustments later, he has grown to be three months and sleeps, smiles and is the apple of everyone's eye. The chiropractor completely revamped him, thankfully!  I'm so thankful I don't even find it mildly annoying that my daughter can't stop professing her love for him in song...
So life is starting to find it's way back to normal at our house (if you consider a now 4 year old, a 2.5 year old and a newborn all flying around our house at a million miles per hour having kazoo parades, digging in our indoor potted plants, and providing baby baths that involve the entire family standing around a tiny plastic bath tub taking turns washing the new guy in town normal.... And we do...). And my mother in law gifted me The Farmer's Wife Quilt Sampler by Laurie Aaron Hird. {SIDE NOTE: I may have stumbled upon sampler quilts on my Pinterest and become ridiculously obsessed with them, talking about them with anyone within ear shot who was remotely interested, or in the case of my newborn, unable to run away. } This is what I needed in my life to make it crazy again!
The idea wheel started turning. And I couldn't stop imagining the quilt top done completely in fabric from my top designer sweetwater, whose fabric line Noteworthy, I used in a baby quilt for my cousins adorable little girl a year and a half ago. But, let's be honest. I'm a mum of 3 and that fabric is beyond what a stay at home mom should be spending on a wild fabric whim. (My favourite kind...) so I did some thing crazy. I emailed them directly.... And something crazier happened. They emailed me back! I was blown away to say the least but through some crazy miracle I will be doing a Farmer's 'Sweetwater' Wife! I will be blogging about that experience, as well my other ongoing sewing projects, pledging to (at the very least) attempt 2 blocks a week in order to complete the entire 111 blocks by next January. Stay tuned for updates!
