Farmer's Wife Week 2

Another week has gone by... wait... what? Yep, I can't believe it. Having three kids sure keeps you busy (day and night)! I also have a few too many projects on the go. I have a quilt for a special birthday girl I started before the baby came that is going to it's new home in a few weeks, a baby quilt for a little girl who has yet to be named, my own yellow, aviary 2, delicious, Joel Dewberry quilt (top is almost done!), and the farmer's wife. Not to mention my daughter is really wanting me to make her something and well, how can I resist!?!
So, I'm not making excuses, I stuck to my quota this week and I am satisfied and looking forward to what week 3 holds. Here are my blocks:

The weather isn't much better but I got in the sewing room just in time to get a few decent snaps! I wanted the Farmer's Daughter block to be amazing because the letters are all about whether the farmer's wife would want her daughter to marry a farmer. I selected some of my favourite fabrics for this and I am so super pleased with the result.
The newsprint is from the Reunion line and it has family names and the dates of their reunions and what transpired at them. I thought this was a good fit because in all the letters the theme of unity and family is really at the heart of a what they base their decision on.

I'mmmmmmmm obsessed with this block...

#58, Mother's Dream... I am looking at this photo and dreaming about pressing it again... Alas, the touch of cooperative lighting has passed and so: this. is. it. Plus, baby is up from his nap and the tiny one demands a good snuggle upon rising and I am not one to deny baby snuggles. They do grow up and poop in their underwear and become less desirable to snuggle at that point. (Not to say I don't love a snuggle with my children, regardless of age... but odour plays a role, that's all I'm sayin')
I digress... Back to how I picked these fabrics!  I mostly used fabric from the noteworthy line because it really summed up many of my dreams and my hopes for my children.

Although the font is slightly too big for the piece, it says, "Let it go" as an homage to my daughter's favourite movie. We took her to see Frozen in the theatre when it came out. It was her first and only theatre movie and she is crazy about it. Plus, sometimes you really do need to let go...

Hello? Did I make this fabric myself? No, because I'm not quite that awesome... But I love it and that makes me awesome enough! Start a blog? CHECK! Learn how to sew? CHECK! Have a daughter and a son (X's2) CHECK & CHECK! Now to wake up in Paris... A mother can dream!
(I pass out when I donate blood, it's not my forte, don't judge- I tried... and the growing a garden thing is a whole different post!)

More blocks next week!
