Farmer's Wife Week 3

Week 3! Truth time! I barely made this (self imposed) deadline. The entire house, minus the baby, has been sick. Not plague-like illness, but stuffy noses, low energy, no motivation, sick. So, last minute I was able to pull these two blocks off, and I had so much fun doing them! If I had more time/energy/health/sleep (INSERT ANY OF THE AFOREMENTIONED) I would do all of them. For my birthday, the big 3-0, in early February, my husband asked what I wanted and I said, "A whole day to sew!" So perhaps the first week of February will bring many more blocks?!

I picked these fabrics to pair together the first week but I only had a small piece of the grey Mama Said Sew floral print so I had to choose the block carefully. I was so excited when it worked here, in Flock.

I couldn't resist a shout out to my Canadianism and so had to make the Maple Leaf block in reds and whites. I had a hard time choosing which red and which white so I decided to use a few different ones. I am not sold on the polka dot yet but I think when it is on point, has sashing and is in the quilt it will work, so for now, it stays!

The print is recipes and suppliers for dry goods, like seeds and grains. Adorable tie in to the Farmer's Wife, if I do say so myself...

Short and sweet this week. I had ok lighting, I had fun sewing, I have one child who will not stay in his room at bedtime and so that is where my heart keeps wandering. See you next week,

  2. Where do you get your inspiration and advice from. I want to make this quilt but need someone to sew along with me and help push me along

  3. Hello Jo! I get my inspiration from the letters themselves and the fabric I chose. I am only using fabric from one designer, sweetwater. I love every line they've ever put out so I'm determined to use as much of their fabric as possible. You should definitely make a fwq, they are fun and addicting!
