Farmer's Wife Week 5

Well, After having completed the first month I decided it would be much easier to work through the week and post on the weekends. I realize that this idea doesn't make sense if I was implementing it in February because I have missed the first weekend. BUT! My amazing husband threw me a surprise party on the weekend in celebration of my 30th year. I am so lucky, it was such an amazing time with so may good friends coming out and creating such wonderful memories! OK, this is still about the quilt blocks, I can assure you.
The plan was also to sew like crazy on my actual birthday but that didn't happen either. Although,  my favourite block this week did come into fruition on my birthday and I have a feeling it will always be special for that reason. Well, that reason and because it is actually breathtaking (if I do say so myself...) Here we go:

This is probably my ultimate favourite block thus far. Its quirky and nerdy and funky and was so much fun to make, ON MY 30TH BIRTHDAY! and it came together so well. I was excited to share it  as soon as I started it!

Look at those gorgeous, luscious points! I learned a lot from this block. I also go in my sewing room to look and touch it. Too much?

I haven't used black in the quilt much because it's pretty heavy. There is no way I am going to do this block again though, regardless of how heavy it is! I like it and it was a million little pieces! The picture isn't really doing it justice but I will make sure to lay all my blocks out soon and take a picture to show it does work with the rest of them in it's own way.

I have very little green in the quilt and may either pull the green completely or keep trying to add in some to balance out the blocks that do have green.

It's such cute fabric though, those sweet cathedral windows in 'pickle' from the wishes line. Hard to think of taking it out as I really do love it.

I'm looking forward to next week's blocks, maybe some with fewer pieces?! (Truthfully, I really like all those tiny pieces! It's like sewing a fabric puzzle, so fun!)
